Ayumu Tateishi is a singer-songwriter based in Osaka, Japan.

 

Armed with his Gibson J-45 Maple Burst and a voice that cuts sharp yet carries warmth, he sings in his own words — not borrowed phrases — as if pushing himself forward with every line.

 

His musical life began in a live house in Takatsuki, Osaka, during his high school years. After three formative years in a band, he stepped into the world of solo acoustic performance.

 

He has organized and performed successful two-man shows with artists such as Pistol Takehara, The Mass Missile, and Hiromi Yunokawa, and once completed the bold challenge of selling 1,000 CDs in 100 days.

 

At the heart of his music are self-questioning and defiance.
Through distinctive melodies and songs that carry his way of life, Tateishi continues to sing with raw honesty and unwavering resolve.

借り物の言葉ではなく、自分の言葉で、自分を奮い立たせるように歌う。

高校時代、大阪・高槻のライブハウスで始まった音楽人生。
バンドで過ごした3年間が原点となり、弾き語りでの活動へと歩を進める。

自主企画で竹原ピストル、ザ・マスミサイル、湯野川広美らとの2マンを成功させ、
“100日でCD1000枚完売”という無謀な挑戦も、己の足で走り切った。

「自問自答」と「反骨心」。泣き言も本音も、飲み込まずに歌う。

その歌声は、削れたように鋭くてあたたかい。
一度聴けば耳に残る、独特のメロディーラインと共に、生き方ごとぶつけるような歌を、今日も鳴らしている。
